Meredith Baraf's approach to makeup derives from her simple belief that beauty precedes innovation. As an artist, she is a favorite among celebrities, models, fashion houses and photographers, not only for her gentle and generous nature, but for her inspired ability to reveal each of her subject's unique beauty while expessing mood and meaning in their eyes. Through her college studies in psychology and comparative religion, Meredith developed a powerful understanding of people that has aided her success in an artistic craft that strives to make inner beauty and character visible to the naked eye.
Meredith has experienced the makeup industry from many perspectives. She worked her way through college as a freelance artist for MAC Cosmetics and became an executive market planner for the MAC division of Estee Lauder following graduation. Armed with knowledge, experience and passion, she set out to establish herself as a freelance artist on television, film, and music videos. In early 2002, she redirected her career, assisting many top artists in the industry on photo-shoots and runway shows, further seasoning Meredith as a notable makeup artist.
Meredith's work has been seen in the pages of Vogue, Vogue Italia, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair and Glamour; on the faces of Adriana Lima, Katie Cassidy, Liya Kebede, Minka Kelly, Olivia Wilde, and Josh Harnett; and in collaboration with photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Brian Bowen Smith, Max Vadukul, Russell James, and the late Irving Penn. Meredith has been a spokesperson for brands such as Victoria's Secret and Clinique. She has been quoted as an expert in multiple publications and has appeared on television and the web. Meredith's technical flexibility, love for artistic collaboration, instinctive sense of color and dimension, and powerful understanding of the business behind beauty, all define her as an asset in any venue.
